These are roses from a bush that Dad rescued from a construction site. I call it "Mr. Lincoln". The flowers are red-velvet with a wonderful fragrance - and have strong stems that are three feet long!

Can you sniff 'em from there?

I'm pleased to report that the sweet pea community is in full fragrant bloom and is growing rapidly!

Sweet peas have the most delicate, spring-like aroma . . . If only I could post the fragrance here for you to enjoy!

The clematis is about to pop open with blooms . . .

and the lambs ears are velvety, soft and warm this morning :0)

Cookie Monsters and Sweeties

There is a terrific shop called "Sweet Surrender" here in town. (on Ming and Ashe) I have driven past a delicious looking billboard ad of theirs that has a gi-mamoth, pink frosted cupcake decorated with different colored gumballs.
I finally stopped by on my lunch hour yesterday and found these cute little cookies. (Oreos dipped in white chocolate) The yellow duck and bluebird are so springy and sweet! I'm going to ask Kay, Curtis and Donovan for a suggestion of what to do with these cookies.

Kay said the butterfly cookie was delicious - here's a little dab of white chocolate in the corner of her mouth.

Donovan is very earnestly saying "bluebird" - His expression may appear distressed in this shot but he was just expressing his heartfelt approval of the bluebird!

Here are pictures of my two, very cool cats. They were given to Anna and I on our 21st birthday. Since Anna and I turn 22 this year . . . (plus 18 years) that means these cats are a getting a little older.

They still like Saturdays, sunshine and bugs, too!

Phantastick Protea Phlowers!

I phound these Proteas at Trader Joes last night. The design and colors are astounding! They are natives of South Africa. Their care label had those two beautiful words "drought tolerate".

This Sun Star (Ornithogalum dubium) is also a South African Native. The color cordinates perfectly with the Protea. Amazing creation.

Is there anything more lovely than sweet peas? I am so happy that sweet peas are finally here! Just a little warmth from the sun and some steady showers and those dead looking seeds are revealing the power and beauty of life!

We went down to the harbor for breakfast, had a great walk on the boardwalk (and stairs, Ross, AND stairs) Then Marilyn and I had a super afternoon shopping at some fun stores... One of them being Crate and Barrel's Outlet. It is a good thing that store is over one hundred miles from here! Saturday night and Sunday morning got to be with sweet Trent John and Megan. Went on a huff-puff walk with Ross up Heartbeat Hill :0) It felt great - Marilyn had iced tea ready with sugared rims when we got back.

Since my mind is always on the subject of food I'd better include some shots of the delicious concoctions that Marilyn "whupped" up! Peanut marshmallow bars...

I meant to take a picture of Alex's nice blue truck. I'll have to get back down and grab that missed shot. Got to ride with Alex to gospel meeting on Sunday afternoon. It is a very nice truck!
