Bouquet with an Arty air (or a shoe freshener)

Trader Joe's Pickup Quick and Speedy Pizza

! Mama Mia !

This pizza turned out incredibly edible... To make it just pickup a bag of Herb Pizza Dough, Fresh packet of Artichoke Bruschetta, and Pizza Sauce at Trader Joes... Add some Costco Shredded cheese and call it good, good, good! The pizza was cooked using a neat pizza peel and stone from good friend Laurie... It is nice to use it 'cause I can think of her while baking!
Thinking of Twin Beginnings

This spring I read in my psychology book that twins reach for each other even before they are born ... Being a twin is something I would highly recommend !

I remember hearing that my brother Gary heard Mom and Dad were bringing the "twins" home (after we were born) . . . He wasn't exactly sure what twins were, but was pretty sure we didn't need any of 'em.

Grandmommy loving us just like she did all her grandkids!

Here is big sis Loretta showing us how to play meeting . . .

Gumdrop chocolate cake - it is how we grew so strong and tall !

Turning 84 with a Terrific Twin

Loretta made this fanastic, fruity cake and put it in the freezer before she went. I remember that she folded cream cheese in with the whipping cream. I'll post the recipe after I talk to her and write down her recipe.

This is what happens when a sister visits.... Loretta's Savory Hot Dish

Loretta created this yummy one dish meal.

Make stuffing by the box recipe... (saute onions, celery, butter, etc)

Cover bottom of a 8"x13" pan with the stuffing.

Then she lays uncooked chicken breast over the top.

Then mix sour cream and onion soup dip, using twice as much soup mix as you would use for usually use for dip. Spread sour cream mixture over chicken breasts.

Then cook at 350 for about 40minutes. (Until chicken is cooked.)

Green Tomato Cake

Made with green tomatos harvested from the Melstone garden, right after frost last fall.

Lemonbars California style

Lemonbars, with a big hair-Dallas twang

Loretta made these mouth puckering/watering, lemonbars. She followed this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-bars-recipe/index.html
but double the filling and used "Bob's Red Mill, whole-wheat pastry flour" (Green Frog carries it)
To give the lemonbars the Dallas twang, hold whipped cream can long enough to say

Swaiit Tay... :0)

Would you like to meet Sox ?

This is sox, part dog, part monkey and part tiger - or in other words... A Cat!

She came about the month of October. I'm pretty sure she was left behind, maybe by a forclosure household. She can do summersaults, mouse racing and massive napping. She follows me around like a puppy but isn't really into hugs being held. I think you'd like her!

Free for the summer !

I'm finished with the spring semester (It included psychology, Windows Office and saving the worst for last; an accelerated statistics class)

I thought I'd post the results from this to show my blood, sweat and tears :0)

It didn't take a long time... It took FOREVER- that is what 100+ hours since March felt like, for just this one class!

( Oh, yes... I thought you would never ask - Straight A's both semesters! )

Aaaah, Spring !

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." ~Charles Dickens

A Beautiful Spring day with Sweet Family

Duane and Anna treated us to lunch on the patio.
Great spring breezes and sunshine!
Thank you Duane and Anna!

Marilyn and Chet good-naturedly celebrating their birthdays from January and February.
(This cake was Pink Lemonade. It is like the fresh strawberry but add lemonzest to the frosting and fill the layers with lemon curd. I'll link in the details later. )
Singing "I've a Friend" before taking off for Fallbrook. Thanks Ross, Marilyn, Alex and Chet for coming to us! We loved it!

LAGUNA BEACH
.
Here are a few shots from a Nick Carver class Cari and I went to last Tuesday. The setting was beautiful - a beach full of mossy, curvy, soft-sculpted rocks.

I felt I understood more but didn't feel as artistic. I'm guessing once the camera basics soak in that I'll get to that dreamy, inspired, autistic zone again.
(And you probably thought I just needed more coffee!)
We have one more class in March that should involve green hills and wildflowers - I'll aim for more inspired results in March.
.
After the workshop Cari located a great Japanese hot pot restaurant. It was so cool! We both had a plate of raw veggies and meat and a hot pot of bubbling broth. The waitress showed us how to cook the food - You grab a bit of veggie with chopsticks, swirl it in the hot pot- Say Shabu, shabu, shake-shake-shake . . . dip it in some yummy sauce - Ta-daa' - delicious hot pot!
